BACHELOR OF VISUAL ARTS AND DESIGN (BVAD)

Duration of the Program

This program will take Three (3) Years divided into six (6) semesters. Every year will have two semesters.

Admission Requirements

There are three ways of joining the University.

  1. Direct Entry
  2. Mature Age/Special Entry
  3. Diploma Holders Entry
Direct Entry

A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to a first-degree program of the University if the candidate has obtained:

  1. The Uganda Certificate of Education (‘O’ level) or an equivalent qualification.
  2. A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examination (‘A’ level) or equivalent with at least two principle passes obtained at the same sitting in any arts or sciences subject like Geography, Physics, Chemistry, History, Fine Art, Woodwork or Carpentry, Technical Drawing, Metal work, Computer Aided Design, Mathematics, Graphics, Computer Studies, Tailoring, Sewing and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects.
  3. Higher Education Certificate in Fashion, Fine Art, Woodwork or Carpentry, Technical Drawing, Metal work, Computer Aided Design, Computer Studies, Tailoring, Sewing and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects.
The Mature Age/Special Entry

Candidate for the Mature Age/Special Entry scheme must be at least 22 years old and have had formal education. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination, are then considered for admission.

The Diploma Holders Entry

Clients who have completed Diplomas in Fine Art, Industrial Ceramics, Textiles, Painting, Graphic Design, Computer Aided Design, Animation, Fashion Design as well Biological, Physical and Chemical Sciences from a recognized institution of higher learning are welcome to apply

BACHELOR OF GRAPHIC DESIGN & ANIMATION (BGDA)

Duration of the Program

Include the duration of the program. For example, state that the program will be conducted in six semesters over a period of three years. This program will take 16 Three (3) Years divided into six (6) semesters and each year will be having two semesters of which the semester takes 15 weeks.

Admission Requirements

There are three ways of joining the University.

  2. Mature Age/Special Entry 
  3. Diploma Holders Entry
Direct Entry

A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to a first-degree program of the University if the candidate has obtained:

  1. The Uganda Certificate of Education (‘O’ level) or an equivalent qualification.
  2. A Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examination (‘A’ level) or equivalent with at least two principle passes obtained at the same sitting in Fine Art, Woodwork or Carpentry, Technical and Architectural Drawing, Metal work, Computer Aided Design, Graphics, Computer Studies, Tailoring, Sewing and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects.
  3. Higher Education Certificate in Fine Art, Woodwork or Carpentry, Technical and Architectural Drawing, Metal work, Computer Aided Design, Computer Studies, Tailoring, Sewing and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) subjects.
The Mature Age/Special Entry

A candidate for the Mature Age/Special Entry scheme must be at least 22 years old and should have had formal education who will be given a special assessment in form of written and oral examination. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination, will be considered for admission.

The Diploma Holders Entry

Candidate must be holders of a Diploma in a TVET program, and courses like Graphic Design, Photography, Industrial and Fine Arts, Textiles, Ceramics, Sculpture, Fashion, Computing, Computer Programming, Game Design, Industrial Design and Engineering from a recognized institution of higher learning.

DIPLOMA IN VISUAL ARTS & DESIGN (DVAD)

Admission Requirements

Direct Entry

A candidate shall be deemed eligible for consideration for admission to our Diploma program if the candidate has obtained:

  1. The Uganda Certificate of Education (‘O’ level) or an equivalent qualification with all arts and science subjects.
  2. At least one credit in an arts or science subject of the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Examination (‘A’ level) or equivalent.
  3. Higher Education Certificate in art –based or science-based disciplines.
The Mature Age/Special Entry

Candidate for the Mature Age/Special Entry scheme must be of at least 22 years of age and should have had formal education. Those who are successful, in both the written and the oral examination will be considered for admission.

The Certificate Holders Entry

Candidate must be holders of and should have passed a certificate in any arts or science subjects.
