With more than 30 dedicated, highly qualified, and skilled academic, technical and administrative staff, equipped labs, studios, and workshops, the Faculty’s goal is to identify research and develop targeted engineering, design and technology solutions to contemporary issues in partnership with national and international collaborators.

FEDT graduates over 150 well-rounded job-market-ready individuals every year from 15 diploma, bachelors, and masters programs, ranging from Bachelor of Industrial and Fine Art, to Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering. Graduate programs include the Master of Information Technology, Postgraduate Diploma/Master of Science in Water and Sanitation, and Master of Environmental Science and Management.

Several short continuous professional development courses are also offered by FEDT including Computer Aided Drawing/Design (AutoCAD 2D), Certificate in Computer Applications (CCA), CISCO Networking Academy Program (CNAP), and International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Certification.

In order for us to actually live sustainably, recognition of the crucial role ‘integrated approaches’ play in developing solutions to the challenges we face is key. At FEDT, we are cognizant of this and collaborate with other Schools/Faculties within the University as well as other partners locally and internationally to develop innovative, long lasting and holistic solutions and this allows for multifaceted/professional teams to work together. This we believe will be pertinent is molding an all-rounded professional who can work with others and contribute positive change to our environment.
